Character Name: Errikan Laro Pyrevale
(originally Sven Laro Schumacher)
(Optional) Character Art:
Race: Human
Planet of Origin: Mars
Spoken Languages: English, German
Date of Birth: 6-18-2080 (23 years old)
Gender: Male
Height: 5’ 6”
Appearance description: The noticeable things about Errik are a tattoo of a lightbulb on the base of his neck on the left side, electrical burns on his arms, back and legs, A scar running diagonal across his face along with electrical burns along the sides of his head, short dirty blonde hair, and his piercing blue/gray eyes. Other then this he is of average build and stature. He is left handed and carries himself with the posture, and air of a military officer.
His outfit of choice is a black long-sleeved cargo shirt, leather jacket glove on his right hand, brown aviator sunglasses with HUD which monitors his vital signs, and faded blue jeans. He also generally uses an ornate sword cane to take some of the pressure off of his left leg.
Occupation: Ex special ops soldier in the Saturnian (Titan) Army, then transferred to the Kepler Marine Corp, Graduate of Titan U in electronic engineering
Personality: Errik is an expert at putting up a facade. He often strives to appear as the defender of the weak. The type of guy who will join a fight if someone is getting bullied or attacked. In reality he is one of the darkest, twisted, and broken men on the frontier. Able to kill without regret or conscience, he is borderline sociopathic, the perfect assassin. He strives to find the sense of normalcy he feels was stolen from him as a child. This causes him to mentally cling to the people he cares for or loves, even if he doesn’t show it. Being forced to move from planet to planet has also created a yearning for a constant home in him.
Side note: when I say borderline sociopathic, I mean that he is able to suppress all emotion and morals quite easily and for extended periods of time, not that he doesn’t have any.
Personal History: Sven Laro Schumacher was born on one of the hottest June days Mars had seen in almost two decades. When he was born the doctors informed his parents of a hole in his heart that would be fatal if not treated immediately. His parents were unable to pay the needed cost due to recent debts in other areas. This caused one of the doctors to step in and pay for the procedure. When the surgeon went in to patch up his heart though, it had already healed, much to their surprise. This was the first time he had pulled through and survived something that would bring him within an inch of his life.
After this event, Erik’s life went through the only period of time that could be classified as normal. This ended when he was nine. His father got fired from his job and started trying to drink himself to death. Now is the time I should probably mention that his father was an angry drunk. He would occasionally go into fits of rage and beat his son and wife. One day, when Erik was ten, his father completely lost it. He beat his wife to death while Erik hid in the closet. When he landed the final blow and stood up, he realized, in his drunken stupor, what he had done. Erik also realized, and started crying, audibly. His father, realizing he would be found out, went after him. Erik fled from him and managed to get to where his mother hid a sidearm. He got to it a second before his father was upon him. Erik spun towards the man, who managed to grab his arm, snapping it in his grip, and fired three shots. One shot missed and slammed into the wall. One shot hit his father in the right side of his chest, and the other hit him in the left leg. The man dropped, hard, and Erik fled.
After getting medical attention for his arm, Erik snuck onto a ship bound for Titan. From there, he spent the next six years going from foster home, to orphanage, to foster home. When he turned sixteen, he set out on his own and proceeded to sign up in Titan’s military with a completely fabricated identity. The name he used was Errikan Laro Pyrevale and he has kept it ever since. While working in the Titan army, Errik managed to work his way up to the rank of second lieutenant at age nineteen along with completing a bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering. It was at this time that he was nominated for special operations training. He passed this with flying colors and was put onto a squad. Over the next two years him and his squad undertook dozens of missions, all successes, limited casualties. Errik himself, was only wounded one time, a man attacked him and sliced diagonally down his face with a combat knife. He barely managed to dodge the brunt of the attack. The cut was deep enough to leave a scar.
When Errik turned twenty-two, he learned that his father survived his wounds, and had moved to Titan. In an effort to avoid being recognized by the man, Errik took a job on a soldier swap program between Kepler and Saturn. He transferred to the Kepler Marine Corp, and a marine took his place on his squad. Over the next four months, Errik was shown the worst of Kepler on his new special operations team. On one fateful mission, him and his team were sent in to take out a high priority terrorist force. The only issue was when they got there, the terrorists turned out to be a heavily armed militia group who was prepared for them. His team was annihilated in the ensuing hail of bullets, and Errik was captured. Back at the marine base, the mission was labeled as a failure with all members killed in action. This meant that there were no rescue attempts. Over the next two months, Errik was brutally tortured for information, holding out in the hope that rescue would come. Day after day, for two months he was taken out of his cell, strung up in wire, and electrocuted in hopes of getting information. This torture left his body scarred, and crippled. After approximately one month, the militia group was still unable to break Errik’s spirit. For the next four weeks, they shattered his left tibia, and left him with barely enough water and food to survive. Errik managed to somewhat set his leg, but it never quite healed right and left him with a limp.
Two months and 4 days after his original capture, the militia’s base was found, and taken over by the marines in one full attack. Errik was found, starved and broken in the basement of one of the heavily secured buildings. He was taken back to a marine base, and debriefed. The whole experience left him mentally scared, broken, and a vastly different man then he was. After being given a medical discharge, Errik moved into an apartment in District one. He made it off the planet on one of the last ships to leave, and watched as the third planet he called his home, was annihilated.
(Optional) Criminal History: None
Medical Conditions/Disabilities: Errik has very slight schizophrenia due to his mental and physical trauma. He usually has moments of perfect mental clarity though.
His body is scared and broken in many areas including his right hand which has had most nerves fried out of it making it extremely hard to move and unable to feel pain, he prefers to keep it gloved, and a shattered left tibia which was badly repaired, leaving him with a limp. He often uses a sword cane to combat the limp and pain.
Had a hole in his heart at birth, but this healed itself.
Goals: Survive
(Optional) Relationships: Father somewhere on Titan
