The Interstellar Mining Corporation was founded shortly after humanity achieved space-travel. It was responsible for a lot of the resource gathering that lead to the construction of Mars’ cities and the space stations around Saturn. Eventually, it was one of the biggest resource contractors in the Sol system.
With money and resources, the IMC expanded their horizons to research and development, as well as creating their own private military, which was known simply as the IMC Marine Corps (IMC-MC). These areas slowly swelled as the IMC expanded it’s reach throughout the galaxy.
Then the match hit the gasoline and the intergalactic war exploded. This gave the IMC the prime opportunity to grow even more. Signing a contract with EarthGov and some of the smaller colonies, the IMC-MC provided protection for its allies and death for its enemies. During this time, the IMC became notorious for its cloning policy; they sent soldiers to die over and over with no limit. This resulted in hundreds going clinically insane or becoming vegetated from crippling PTSD, the soldiers seeing so much death and destruction.
The IMC is why intergalactic law states that a person may only be cloned three times.
Post-war, the IMC-MC provided “protection” for the outlying colonies of humanity. On planets like Kepler it wasn’t so bad, as they tried to remain neutral during the war. However on enemy planets such as Aquarii, the IMC night as well have been a dictatorship, with soldiers actively beating and harassing citizens.
They now approach Salvus in full stride, aiming to take control of the resource-rich planet. They will crush anyone who stands in his way, and they will show no mercy to those caught in their wake.
